Have you tried the Aloe Vera Gel Leave-in Conditioner recipe featured on Naturalsunshine? Submit and share your thoughts! The recipe can be found here.

Finding the perfect leave-in conditioner can be difficult. There are so many different products lines that claim to offer moisture and shine! Before you jump on the next product-craze bandwagon, why not try making your own leave-in conditioner? That is what I decided to do a month ago! I found a lovely homemade, organic leave-in conditioner recipe. The best part is you only need three ingredients! I have to thank ChicandKinky.com for the recipe goodness. (:
This conditioner is ideal for…
What does it do?
My experiences with the conditioner
My results from using this leave-in conditioner were awesome! After applying the leave-in conditioner, I had moisture, volume, and slip. I recommend sealing in the moisture with a light oil like Almond Oil. Also, I recommend using the conditioner only on freshly washed hair to avoid frizz and shrinkage. If you already have a go-to spritz, consider using this leave-in conditioner instead!
Recipe: Aloe Vera Gel Leave-in Conditioner
4oz water
4oz aloe vera gel
10 drops of essential oil (pick your favorite!)
Directions: Add water and aloe vera gel to a small bowl and stir lightly with a spoon. Pour the contents into a spray bottle and shake. Add an essential oil of your choice and shake lightly again. Use daily or as often as needed to restore softness.

Did you know that Aloe Vera Gel can be used as an astringent? What is an astringent you ask… well an astringent is defined as “a cosmetic that cleans the skin and constricts the pores” (dictionary.com). In other words, it removes oil from a surface. While astringents like Aloe Vera Gel can work in taming oily hair or skin, it can have unfortunate results if want your hair to retain moisture and oil content. Aloe Vera Gel will act like an astringent, drying out your hair, if you leave in on your scalp a long period of time. So, when using Aloe Vera Gel make sure to add your favorite oil to the gel. I recommend Sweet Almond Oil for a light oil, Jojoba Oil for a medium heavy oil, or Olive Oil for a very heavy oil. Aloe Vera Gel, like Aloe Vera Juice, can be purchased at a Health Food Store like Whole Foods.
